Situated next to the plush Corinthian Hills subdivision that many of the richest families in the Philippines call their homes, Apero Restaurant has designed not only a nice menu but also a very interesting wine list to cater to these discerning customers.

Apero Café and Wine Bar

Apero Café and Wine Bar

Don’t let its size fool you into thinking that this is another one of those fast-food type café that serves run-of-the-mill burgers and fried chickens. Apero is much more than that. True to its French name, this restaurant in Corinthian Hills (opposite the landmark Mormon church along the same road) is a genuinely fine place for wine lovers to relax and unwind after a long day at the office or a fun day out in the sun with the family.

A number of items on the restaurant wine list surprise even the seasoned wine drinkers of Manila. Of particular interest to many wine lovers is the 2009 Cahors which is priced so low that some might wonder if there was a typo on the wine list. Another interesting item is the pinot noir from German’s Baden district. Germans call their Pinots Spatburgunder and we call their Spatburgunder a wine of class and value.

Yats International Leisure Philippines

Wine lovers all over Asia know of this place and make the trip to Clark Philippines to load up on rare vintage wines that are often cheap in comparison to prices in their home towns. Moreover, old vintage wines especially those that are not that famous are hardly seen in Asia can be found in this frequently visited wine shop outside of Manila Philippines. Asian wine lovers and collectors stick to big names. As a result, Lafite, Petrus and Margaux are plenty but seasoned wine connoisseurs are not impressed by the labels. They go for better values in the Cru Bourgeois for Bordeaux and the lesser known domaines and negociants wines – especially the 1er cru wines – in Burgundy.
